SEAN
Age: 18
Story: Alone Boy
He lived alone after his brother Tyler was killed in a car accident. He was extremely close with his brother, and when he died he started to feel disillusioned with the rest of humanity. Living in a big, busy city, he scorns society for being heartless and bureaucratic. He dreams of escaping somehow. Depressed, he maintains that the only thing that those skyscrapers are ever good for is jumping off of.
He stumbles upon Yui by accident. When Halsey sees how interested and worked up Yui gets over seeing Sean, she asks if he would like to help out with the experiment. Feeling he has nothing outside left to live for, he agrees, and starts to live with Yui. He is judgmental and stubborn, and dislikes Halsey and Lowell at first. But Yui is like a spark of hope for him, and in getting to know Yui he starts to understand the rest of humanity as well.
He is the one that brings Yui's psychic abilities to light.
He wants to be a writer or poet, but his writing was mediocre at best because he tended towards close-mindedness and lack of insight after Tyler died. He can't exactly practice while he's living with Yui, but his thinking and insight become sharper while he is there, so I'm sure he will be better for it by the time this ordeal is over.

Dearest Elaine,
ReplyDeleteI found your art while stumbling around on DeviantART, and I AM SO GLAD!! I love how you draw your characters, making them each unique and true to their personalities. I'm an English major in college, and I wish all the boring stories I have to read were as beautiful and well-developed as yours. Your character development so amazing! I truly appreciate that you give each character actual flaws. Too many writers forget to do this, and it ruins their stories completely. Besides all that, I'm especially fond of Yui and Sean. I love how innocently you portray Yui and how forlornly adorable Sean is. You're really inspiring to me. Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us!
