Klaus is the chipper, slightly eccentric keeper of Maria and one of R.K’s inner circle. He used to live on an upper-tier level, and was projected to be a top-tier robotics engineer by age 25. He made it by 19, and was about to start his career with Superhuman when the “Superhuman massacre” occurred, the first large crime in many decades. Almost immediately afterwards, he was recruited by R.K personally, and agreed to join her movement. He has become quite agoraphobic since the massacre.
He’s always loved working with his hands, so he is glad to be actually building things for R.K instead of the design and theory work he would have been doing for Superhuman. Also, since he is already part of an illegal group, he can build whatever he wants and not worry. He’s definitely not in it for all the serious reasons everyone else is, and thus he is usually much happier than they are. He is quite casual, but he refers to those around him as “Miss” and “Sir” a lot. You can always count on him to be working away with a grin on his face.
He is particularly attached to Maria, and fawns over her as if she were his real little sister sometimes. R.K doesn’t really approve, but she leaves him alone about it because they’re both so valuable. Pretty much everyone around him writes off his antics as childish ignorance.
Also, he is a packrat and collects things pertaining to history. He can be like a one man museum sometimes.
