RYAN LOWELL

Story: Alone Boy
He and Halsey are partners in the Yui project. Where Halsey is the science-doctor in charge of Yui, Lowell is the medical doctor in charge of Yui. He mostly stays in "the back room" with the monitors, observing Yui's vitals and other such boring things. He seems weathered, worn by life, though he is only 38. Something may have happened in his past, in his career, as he maintains he cannot be a normal doctor. His sense of humor is sarcastic, and a lot of his comments seem to blow over Halsey's head. He seems to find Sean's exaggerated dislike of everything to be quite humorous.
At his core, he is a follower. His sardonic attitude serves to cover up all the fear inside; fear for his life, job, dignity, among other things.
He used to smoke, and when he couldn't quit completely he became addicted to lollipops instead.
It is really interesting that he is so afraid to be entirely independent with his life while he uses his sardonic outlook to cover it up.
