Kaoru, like many of the other tenants, has a backstory shrouded in mystery. At the time of the story, he dresses and acts like a woman, but doesn't quite identify as one. The self-appointed home-maker of the mansion, Kaoru finds joy in cooking, cleaning, and helping around the manor. On the surface, Karou seems painfully shy and a people-pleaser to a fault, but one may wonder if Kaoru really is this obsequious in nature. If Kaoru's servile nature is sincere, was he always that way? Though his crush on Katashi seemed painfully obvious when the newbie arrived, one may wonder how Kaoru really feels about the other tenants. The unlikeliest person may be able to see the truth behind Kaoru’s enigmatic smile.
