Out of all the tenants, Shota may seem the most out of place. While many of the tenants engage is endless bickering and petty fights, Shota plugs along on his gameboy or goes out to play soccer and attend school and seems, at first glance, completely detached from his housemates. None of the tenants can ever recall seeing the boy smile or laugh. But when Katashi takes it on himself to “save” the kid from being “turned gay” by forcing him to do manly things, like play football and go “babe-watching” the kid’s rarely seen wrath is revealed. Shota starts to bring out paternal instincts from more of Momotani’s self-centered tenants than one might think possible--and that seems to include the socially awkward Manabu when he decides to support and encourage Shota at his soccer practices. But what if Shota wants something a little more from his nerdy “big brother” figure?
